-
Soft Tissue Therapy is an assessment-led approach to treating muscles, tendons, ligaments and other soft tissues. It combines hands-on treatment with movement assessment and clinical reasoning to help reduce pain, improve mobility and support recovery and performance.
-
Sports Massage is one of the techniques that may be used within a treatment session. Soft Tissue Therapy takes a broader approach, incorporating assessment, treatment planning, movement analysis and rehabilitation principles to address the factors contributing to pain or reduced performance.
-
Not at all.
While many clients are runners, cyclists, gym-goers and active individuals, treatment is suitable for anyone experiencing muscular tension, movement restrictions, discomfort or simply wanting to move and feel better.
-
Your first appointment includes a detailed assessment and treatment session.
We'll discuss your goals, medical history, activity levels, injury history and any current concerns before carrying out a movement assessment where appropriate. Treatment is then tailored to your individual needs.
-
Treatment should be effective, not unnecessarily painful.
Some techniques may create temporary discomfort, particularly in areas of significant tension, but treatment is always delivered at an intensity that is productive, safe and appropriate for you.
-
For new clients, I recommend an initial assessment & treatment session.
For returning clients, treatment length will depend on your goals, injury history and the areas requiring attention. If you're unsure, please get in touch and I'll be happy to advise.
-
This depends entirely on your goals.
Some clients book treatment to address a specific issue, while others incorporate regular sessions into their training, recovery or wellbeing routine. Following your assessment, I will discuss a realistic treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Yes. Soft tissue therapy can support the assessment and management of many minor and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, as well as recurring pain, stiffness and movement restrictions. Your initial appointment will include an assessment to understand your symptoms, relevant history and goals before deciding on an appropriate treatment approach. If your presentation requires medical investigation or assessment by another healthcare professional, you will be advised accordingly. description
